Jacinto, a dancer, swimmer, former runner, sometimes yogi, and happy gym go-er, found Pilates in 2003 while attending Cal State Long Beach's Dance Program; from which he obtained his B.A. in Dance. While at Long Beach, under the tutelage of Karen Clippinger, he continued to practice Pilates and in 2008, with Ms. Clippinger, trained under Body Arts and Sciences' Comprehensive Teacher Certification Course. Sophie discovered Pilates in 2000 when it was first introduced to me as a form of therapy to build core strength and restore physical equilibrium. What was intended to be a different exercise method turned out to be much more. Sophie became addicted in the way it made her feel. While she has been physically active all her life, with competitive swimming at national level in France, recreational running, and as a Spinning instructor, Pilates has transformed her physical health. Sophie's passion and commitment eventually led her to become an instructor. She studied and received her Pilates certification at the Marshall Eklund Stott Pilates certification center. Sophie furthers her expertise to include training for people with injuries and the population with special needs. Sophie is eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for Pilates with others and help them experience the joy of body/mind consciousness.
